Does anyone have any information regarding A J Hall Picture shop. I am trying to locate anyone with any information regarding the owners.
ReplyDeleteThanks - email margaret.harris@xtra.co.nz would be appreciated. I am also wanting to see if there is any connection between this shop and the Turkish Baths also owned by Hall.
Albert James Hall died 17 October 1955 in Christchurch. He had at least one child, a daughter Nola Dorothy Hall, born 20 April 1916, Christchurch, died October 1955, Christchurch, she was the first wife of Norman Andrew Hardie, picture framer of Kairaki, Kaiapoi, he was born 7 November 1918, died 11 July 1997. If you were to look for his death notice in The Press you might find the names of any children or grandchildren, and you may be able to trace them in the phone book.
ReplyDeleteHey I was wondering if you have any more information on Money bros..? I’m looking to find out atleast when they closed down. Cheers
ReplyDeleteHi, according to a quick search of the National Library of New Zealand's "Papers Past" website, Money Bros., Picture Framers last advertised in the Press [Christchurch] on 20 December 1949 [1]. A notice in the Press on 16 December 1949 [2] indicated that the business had been sold. A few months later on 6 April 1950 a notice by Victoria Gallery, 785 Colombo Street advised that they were the successors to Money Bros [3].
