Stop heritage destruction on-line petition

Lynne Lochhead
- Save Our Arts Centre (SOAC) Treasurer
I would like to draw your attention to an online petition which is a follow up from that. If you were unable to attend the rally and have not had an opportunity to sign the paper petition but would like to show your support you can go to the link below.

Please note that it is not always possible to get through to the site on the first attempt. it is not a faulty link but simply a sign that the site is overloaded. Quiet times in New Zealand such as early in the morning are often very busy in the northern hemisphere, but please do not give up ! We need every signature we can get. And please send this link to anyone else you feel may be interested in signing.

Two of our important Gothic Revival buildings The Peterborough Centre and the Cramner Centre are both very much at risk of demolition because of differences of opinion about whether to restore or demolish among body corporate members. Pressure to demolish from CERA will strengthen the hand of those favouring demolition but your signature on the petition may help to encourage CERA to hold back. This will buy the time that is needed to make sound, well-informed decisions about the future of the buildings. We hope that significant numbers of signatures on a petition will also influence what happens with the Cathedral.
